for the standard M16/M203 the SOP is 10 30 round mags and however many 40mm grenades (which cant be more than 10). for anything that shoots 7.62x51 (like the M249 you're allowed 3 drums which can be 200-500 rounds. if youre using an M40A3, M14,or the M24 my guess is youre allowed 20 clips which are 20 shots a piece. (bolt action rifles like the M40 or Remington 700S carry 10 shot mags so that'd be 30 clips. but if you are carrying a larger rifle such as the M200 or barrett M82 or M107, ammo capacity would add serious weight because .50 BMG sniper rifles weigh between 35-40lbs unloaded. I could be wrong but if I were a soldier that was on patrol or on fire watch stationed in an area where enemy troop numbers are high, id carry a .308 M14 rifle scoped, and an M249, and id have my partner carry a M79 and sufficient amounts of high explosives

Navy Seal going into combat loaded(Based on Earning the Trident) can carry over 100 lbs.
That's why I'm incredulous about women going into the Seal program.
