The licence is proof of nothing except the registration of intent to marry. Nothing on the licence says you actually got married.

Even if all of your IDs are in your maiden name and the tickets are booked in your new name as long as you have the official copy of your marriage license on you there will be no problems. People get married and don't get around to getting every thing changed often.

Whether they are correct or not, this is a legal document that states your name and surname as it was registered when you married. It's whatever there policy is for requesting valid documents. The only way to change your name legally is through the court system in your State. If you don't have this document from the court you cannot legally just randomly change your name. We use to say "I wanna see my Shop Steward!" it was said in fun. :)

Yes, a marriage certificate (license as you call it) is an office proof of a name change if you are married. Otherwise you can write an affidavit and file it with your District Officer for change of name.
