Legal yeah, but totally ineffective. its damn near impossible to do. A person could easily roll out of it, and the other issue is that a cloverleaf doesnt hurt. People tap because they are about to lose consciousness or they will have something broken. Not because they have minor back pain, or no pain at all if they are flexible.
It's legal in MMA (though not in some grappling tournaments because it puts pressure on the spine), but you're not going to get it on anyone who can actually fight. Nobody with quality training will allow themselves to be turned over, not to mention none of them will let you cross their legs like that. You'd probably get kicked in the face first. It might happen at the very local level, with tough guys who have poor training, but you'll never see it on the big shows.
Yeah its legal but no mma fighter should be such a grappling noob to get caught in that ****.
