Okay, so after seriously like 5 years of wanting my nose pierced i got it done. I got it done, the first mistake i made was getting done at Merle Norman with a piercing gun. I researched it and put a lot of time into that decision. Mostly cause i didn't want to use a needle, but a lot of people had it done with a gun and said it was fine. When i got it done it was fine but the stud was a earring not a nose stud. That night it fell out and was swollen, so i went to another Merle Norman where they did it with some sort of needle gun. After a month or so, my nose stud fell out (because it was just a straight one) luckily they gave me another one, which was straight also but i put in. I cleaned it every day with the earring cleaner they gave me. (which i learned from a professional piercer that is not good for your piercing at all !!) Recently i went to a professional piercer to put in a corkscrew nose stud so it won't fall out. Its been about 3 months now. and it was fine the first day but a couple days ago i woke up and it was red and irritated. And now its almost sinking into my skin. I bought iodine to clean my piercing, but how can i make the bump and the piercing better? HELP!? would love some suggestions. i know i made a lot of mistakes, i'm quite aware. aha

Stop using the iodine immediately, and go see your *real* piercer as soon as possible. You've probably just bumped it and it needs to be reseated.
Are you rinsing your piercing at least once or twice a day in properly mixed sea salt solution? Or even prebottled 0.9% contact lens saline or a commercial product like H2Ocean?
I'll spare you the full piercing gun lecture, the things should be banned for any use, let alone nostrils. Despite the weird misconception, needle piercings really don't hurt that much, whereas gunned piercings, presuming they are successful, will often hurt mildly forever. Being spring loaded doesn't make anything quicker or easier. Glad to see you're ready and willing to learn though!
>.< Yeah, don't go to the gun for anything besides lobe piercings, and even then I would be wary.
But anyways about your bump, I have had experience with piercing bumps, but not on my nose piercing, even still I'm sure the same rules apply.
Because I've had piercing bumps I know how devastating it can be because you paid for this piercing and you probably like it a lot, and don't want to remove it. If things get really bad you should see a professionally piercer again!
So these bumps usually form if your piercing has been knocked around too much, and they are also common, so don't worry too much.
Here's what worked for me:
Do sea salt soaks about three times a day. You can buy a spray for this, or make the solution yourself. [I believe it’s a quarter teaspoon of sea salt to 8 ounces of water as the appropriate measurement.]
This should help your bump a lot.
And if your bump remains as it did for me, purchase some tea tree oil from your local drugstore and apply it to your bump every night, and at least once a day apply warm water compressions.
This got rid of my bumps!
And remember not to play around with your piercing, or touch it with dirty hands!
Good luck!!!
if you have a bump by your peircing use tea tree oil to get rid of it 2 times a day, but before putting on the tea tree oil clean it out with hydrogen perioxide to disifect.
hope this helps a little
oh and dont take out a pericing that is infected because it can close up the infection under the skina dn make things a lot worse.
you're in a pickle. it particularly is going to be maximum suitable to bypass on your interior of reach piercing parlor and ask them to insert a sparkling retainer for you. you will infrequently have the capability to work out it. Be warned that they won't do it by using fact the piercing is so new and the plastic will carry micro organism making it extra durable for you to heal. you additionally can attempt reducing off a nook of a band help and putting it over the jewellery. it is going to look somewhat off, yet once you haven't any longer have been given the different strategies this may be your maximum suitable wager. you additionally can attempt to be conscious somewhat bit make up over the bandage, in basic terms ascertain the piercing continues to be sparkling. The nostril screws (that are the jewellery you're describing) are form of a soreness to get out and in. It takes some prepare and somewhat staying power. i might particularly advise happening your piercer once you decide on it replaced till it heals somewhat extra and you will have the stud out long sufficient to play around with it. in case you in basic terms have been given your nostril pierced Sunday it is going to maximum likely % up in a 12 hour era with out retainer. you would be conscious it healing over in decrease than an hour in case you have been to objective to reinsert the jewellery. i've got had my nostril pierced for 2 years and It nonetheless likes to start to % up on me if i bypass studless for extra suitable than 4 hours.
One thing you should not do is take it out. If it is infected the piercing will keep it open so it will get rid of all the discharge and get better.
