Why did Congress defeat?
an amendment to the health bill that said "If this passes, all members of Congress will join it."
Why do they want to force something on America they won't touch with a ten foot pole?
Update:I meant $2,000 a month.
And let's not forget parts of the bill that say if you don't have private insurance now, it will not be an option for you later. YOU WILL BE FORCED BY LAW TO USE OBAMACARE.

An amendment of this kind would not likely be enforceable any more than an amendment that all Americans must join it.
When any amendment is put forth it has to be enforceable. If members of congress would not have an option to decline, then by inference nobody would have that option. That would not likely stand constitutional scrutiny.

For the most part you are right. However, the mere fact that they even mentioned wanting to enforce such laws proves how corrupted they are regardless.
