I would never leave any human out when celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but if they do not believe in him I wounder why they celebrate it?
I expected no less of some of the answers. I don't care how they mix it Christmas is a holiday celebrating the birth of Christ. They can make anything they want it to be but the facts are it's a Christian holiday and for them to celebrate it is hypocritical to the largest extent. I wouldn't leave them out either but I agree with the one poster who said they do it for presents. Still hypocritical and a lie.
Yes, let's put chocolate in our vanilla ice cream and call it the same thing. Those that know nothing about it are those who claim to be the authority. Never attended a Christmas eve mass/service or fasted in accordance with denominational views, had fish for dinner and never understood the communal nature of the fasting and celebration or the symbolism of the giving of gifts. Yep I wonder why they need someone else's holiday to celebrate family and friends.
Additional: Gee Honey I hate Jesus, let's celebrate Christmas.
Because it is a pagan holiday that was turned into a Christian holiday by Roman Emperor Constantine Augustus. He had a real nice way of getting his way with the help of the Roman Catholic Church. He killed anyone that would disagree with him. Santa didn't come into being until the last half of the nineteenth century.
because it's a joyful holiday. i was raised to believe that christmas was about enjoying the holidays and spending time with the ones you love, christ had nothing to do with it in that sense. whether i believe in god or not, i would still celebrate it because it's a really nice holiday. in a biblical term, there is NO reason for atheists to celebrate it, but who honestly thinks of it that way? we're aware of it being based off of that, but in the modern day it's all about family and fun. so that's my best answer.

For the children and grand children.
Someone said Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus Christ. I thought "Christ" was the origin and meaning of Christmas.

It doesnt have to be a celebration for just Jesus but it can be a great time to get together with family and friends and enjoy the togetherness.

for the presents, man, for the presents !!!!!
It is just another day off for me. Your made up religion and imaginary friend simply do not factor into it for me.
As an atheist I can do whatever I want, I don't have to fear an invisible sky fairy.
