No it is to make sense of all the raw data they lump into categories so to have a better feel and not just a bunch of different ethnicity groups it focused on the main generalized group.

By the way how do you know they lumped them as white and not something else depending on the answer given by the people you would not know the names and it is by percentage I doubt you could tell which ones where labeled as white or made as some other ethnicity or even two or more. You can not count it by how many said they where Muslim since there are white and black Muslims so that can not be that so unless you got your hands on the raw data I doubt you will truly know. Anyway it is how they classify themselves I mean if you not any of the others you probably ended up as some other ethnicity not as white.

The US Census has had that category for a long time. Arabs certainly didn't "ask" to be in the white category. Sephardic Jews are also classified as white and they are similar racially to Arabs. Most educated people can find out the population of Arabs in the country by counting Muslims (fairly similar). Did you read the entire article?

It's because "white" is just another term for "Caucasian". As in, Caucus Mountains, bordering the Middle East. Also, Arabic and Muslim are not the same thing. Remember that Christianity started as a subset of Judaism, both of which began in the same place as Islam.

Arabs are Caucasian, just like white people. Although I'm sure you're referring to people of Northern European descent as "white". Arabic is just a sub group of caucasian. Like Nordic, celtic, germanic, latin etc. Although we usually just group ethnicities like nordic, celtic or any other sub group as "white" in our country, we are all related to the same race being caucasian.

There are four main races and every single sub group falls into one of them. These are Caucasian, Mongoloid, ******* and Australoid. Genetically you will fall into one of these classes. That or a mix of them, like on the census when it says hispanic. Hispanic that means you're of a mix origin which is latin (caucasian) and native (in the case of the America's, mongoloid).

So if you're Arabic, or Finnish or Russian, or Irish or German or Italian, or a mix of all of them, you are Caucasian and therefore "white".

I heard there was a couple reasons why.

1.I heard from some people that they want to include middle eastern people as white because that where jesus was born and they want to have jesus labeled as a white

2.Middle easterners share a lot of features of white people.Skull size,etc.

Why not? A lot of people call Jesus white.
