Most of your photographs are very good composition wise, but also very safe.

The flower photos the way the are presented make them look not very interesting all together because they're taken from the same angle at around the same subject size. You want contrast. I understand you want to be able to identify the flower from it's unique features, but angling some from the different sides more, placing some off center, or exaggerating by pulling closer or back further would make it a much more interesting postcard to look at.

You do very well with the portrait shots you have, but I'd personally like to see what you can do with more dramatic and dynamic shots as well. If you play with your angles and shots, you can find little things that make your portraits that much better.

Keep the photoshop to a minimum for photos, do continue to experiment in it, but don't use it until you really need to for a defined and tasteful purpose.

The one major thing I'd suggest is a good camera that you understand how to use. A lot of your shots are great as they are, but a good use of camera can make them crisp and subject pop. You'll learn more about that in class I'm sure, and it's hard to explain how and what this will do for your photos in words, but here are two really good resources to understand and see a bit more how cameras work.

Your portraits are coming along quite nice. You have some lighting issues you need to address and definite white balance problems, so that should be your next area of study.
