I would like to get advice from someone who knows the steps to become a naturopathic doctor. There is a lot of conflicting information on the Internet. I would love to someday have my own practice, but I need to make sure I get the proper education first.
I currently hold a bachelors in psychology, but need to figure out what the next step would be for me.
Emphasis would be treating common mental health problems (anxiety, depression, etc.) through diet and natural medicine, eliminating the need for traditional medication.

Contact a Naturopathic Medical College. The prereq. is a BSc degree with the same pre-med courses that those going into a conventional program take. It's a 4 year program that includes clinical internship.
You're absolutely on the right track -- no one has mental health problems due to a drug deficiency.
In most US states the term "Naturopath" is not protected. Anyone can call themselves one. If you truly want to help people, you would surely be better pursuing an evidence based profession?
