My professor told us that he'd drop our two lowest grades if someone figured out how to do it on excel. Any help or tips? It'd be greatly appreciated.
If your grades are in A1 to A10, put this formula in B1. Then copy B1 and paste it in cells B2 to B10.
=IF(AND(A1<>MIN($A$1:$A$10),
A1<>SMALL($A$1:$A$10,2)),A1,"")
This will make a list of grades in B1:B10 excluding the two lowest.
If you just want the average of the grades excluding the two lowest.
=(SUM(A1:A10)-MIN(A1:A10)-
SMALL(A1:A10,2))/(COUNT(A1:A10)-2)
