Democrats consider a family of 4 making over $40,000/yr to be wealthy.

A few years ago I read an article that explained how democrats benefit by always referring to how they are going to protect and work for the "middle class." They surveyed people and determined that over 75% of Americans consider themselves to be "middle class." Some made as little as $30,000 and others made over $300,000. All considered themselves in the middle which obviously is not true. They realized that most Americans believe that they are doing okay but that someone else is always worse off and someone else is always better off. This belief is what allows people to fall prey to voting for someone who actually does not have their best interest at heart. If they were honest they would say that they consider rich to be someone not making very much.

Rich is the top 2-4% of Americans who control 70-80% of the wealth in this country. I don't know an income figure and don't have time to research it, but believe me ... it's big money-multimillions.

I did hear that according to census data, during the past 15 years, the income for the middle class rose 7%, while the income for the top 5% rose 40%. Welcome to the new democracy ... government of the ruling elite, by the ruling elite, and for the ruling elite ... brought to you by your little self-serving buddies in the republican party ...

But wait, this administration is a believer in a fair and just economic system ... after democratic pressure they did go along with an increase in the minimum wage ... to $5.85 per hour.

Jay, I have 5 girls all under 14 yrs old. My wife and I are both nurses (LPN's) we have modest salaries. Bush's tax cuts have enabled us to live far better than if the "rich" were taxed higher. I hate to admit it but you could consider the kid's spoiled by ipod's,mp3's,a 61" television, home theater, cell phones for the two oldest not to mention a treo for the wife and a cheap cell phone for me. We both have cars and all the kid's have new bikes. Thank you GWB for your handling of the economy.

Do you know during the Clinton era an average CEO made 50 times what an average industrial worker made and now under Bush and the old Republican controlled Congress an average CEO makes 500 times more than an average industrial worker????? WHY, AND HOW CAN YOU DEFEND THIS ???????

Above $100,000/yr if you are single and $200,000/yr for a family of 4. Obama and Edwards have already said they want to increase taxes on these groups by 4% to pay for healthcare for everyone who doesn't have it. So basically these people will pay an extra $100/wk which is enough money to buy groceries for a week.
